Every year millions of people look for new ways to elude the aging process. In fact, you may be one of those people that think, how can I turn back the hands of time? Aging was once thought of as part of the natural process of life, however, over the last several decades, aging has become a billion dollar business for many.
Is it because the general population is overall unhealthier today than say 50 years ago? Is it because today’s population has become increasingly more vain than their ancestors? Is it because society has become so confident in their abilities that they feel they can cheat death?
While many health experts and naturalists will tell you, that if you take care of your body, you will not need to take any over-the-counter anti-aging pills to prolong your life, there are still many consumers looking for the “one” pill that will give them even just a few extra years.
Over the last decade, many companies and pharmaceutical companies have flooded the market with their version and claim to an anti-aging pill. While many are short lived, there are always new claims and new pills surfacing every year. Because of the time consuming and stringent guidelines established by the FDA, many anti-aging pills never make it to market – at least not as they were originally intended.
One such anti-aging pill is from a company called Elysium Health. Although this new company is backed and run by some of the field’s brightest researchers, they decided to forgo the conventional route of bringing their product to market and have gone the route of nutraceuticals. Why do you ask? Mainly because nutraceuticals do not require clinical trials or FDA approval. In conjunction, they are unable to make the claim that it will make you younger. Instead, they will release their product, under the label of Basis, as an over-the-counter vitamin pill. As a dietary supplement, they will be able to get their product into the hands of the public and over time can conduct surveys and post market studies for effects on aging.
You may be wondering now, what makes their product any different than the hundreds of other products on the market today. They have labeled their product as a metabolic repair and optimization vitamin. The two main ingredients, Nicotinamide Riboside and Pterostilbene are thought to be absorbed by the body and transformed into NAD. NAD, also known as Coenzyme B-3 is needed in your body to oxidize or burn all of your foods. It is thought to be necessary to sustain life.
While naturally your levels of NAD will decrease with age, this anti-aging pill is thought to not only sustain your levels, but can also help with DNA repair, energy production, protein function and cellular detoxification. In short, these functions can have powerful health benefits, including anti-aging properties.
So, if you are looking to increase your health and wellness, you may wish to consider an anti-aging pill such as Basis. Although they do not consider themselves an anti-aging company, their product may be just what you are looking for. The determination is yours – is an anti-aging pill for you? Of course it is always a wise idea to research the ingredients for yourself and consult your health care provider before taking any vitamin supplement that you are unsure your body will tolerate.
